Blandine Laignel


She began classical dance from the age of 4, and moved quickly to other styles: Modern'jazz, tap, character dance, neoclassical... She was also introduced to music and practiced violin, piano and drums.

After her final year of dance and study at the Nini Theilade Academy of Ballet in Lyon, she joined the Character Dance Company Sirarpik (direction Sirarpik Grigoryan) and at the same time trained as a professional actress in Claude Mathieu School in Paris.

In 2010, she worked with the Director Gaelle Hermant (Mimi’s part) in Jean-Claude Grumberg’s workshop, and with Adrien Depuis-Hepner (daughter’s part} in Death Variations of Jon Fosse.

In 2011, she integrated the Contemporary National Dance Centre of Angers (Acting Class) under the direction ship of Emmanuelle Huynh which she left quickly to find her own way.

Back to Paris, she then worked with Director Alice Winocaur on her feature film Augustin, as well as with Director Nathalie Broizat on the performance Love Lab.

In May 2012, she met Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault, directors of the Theatre du Corps, who cast her in their performance The chairs?, a work based on Eugène Ionesco play, The Chairs, in which she’s been performing since.

In October 2012, she met the choreographer Catherine Diverrès and embraced fully her artistic project. She joined the Diverrès Company in May 2013 as an understudy in the show Penthesilees, and on the return of the performance Solide in September 2013.

She also performed in Lotus Edde Khouri new work La lenteur des nus and worked with videographer Yoann Lelong on his video-dance in urban areas.

In July 2014, she performs The chairs? In the Off Festival of Avignon.
